Snowshoes mostly come into play when we venture deeper into the <a href=\"https:\/\/heiligenblut.cs4web.at\/en\/hohe-tauern-national-park\/\">Hohe Tauern National Park<\/a> \u2013 the largest winter hiking territory in the Eastern Alps. The temperatures are gradually pushed up by the rising sun, the views of the surrounding mountains become more stunning by the minute. Eight winter hiking trails offer something for everyone: the Empress Elisabeth trail takes us to the Gipperalm alpine pastures, while the Schareck summit trail begins at an altitude of over 2500 metres.
